This route goes all along the coastline, a circular route without ever losing sight of the sea between the cities of Rimini, Pesaro and Fano – of ancient Roman construction. After the first few kilometres on the spectacular roads of the Monte San Bartolo nature reserve, characterised by continuous uphill and downhill stretches as well as very challenging switchbacks, the route starts to get flatter between Pesaro and Fano. The lack of elevation gain will compensate for the strong wind that characterises this stretch of coastline; therefore it is advisable to boost your energy for the way back to Rimini. Riding on the road back, you will have to tackle a deadly climb immediately after Pesaro: about 4 km at an average gradient of 18%. However, on returning to the Monte San Bartolo nature reserve, the spectacular views will alleviate the fatigue.
