 January - 16-23The international Uci Pro Tour professional cycling calendar will start already in January, with the Tour Down Under, from Australia where in the first weekend of October 2010 was held the road world championships. As since many years, it will be in fact just the austral continent to welcome the first important seasonal race for stages of the Pro Tour calendar. The Tour Down Under welcomes every year the first important challenge among the best European, American and of course Australian riders. The 2011’s edition of this difficult race will take place in a whole week long, from 16th to 23rd January, in the region of Adelaide, just at a few kilometers from Melbourne and Geelong that recently welcome the world championships. The Tour Down Under will cross in 6 stages the town of Adelaide, its suburbs and the territory of the South Australia region, with start on 18th January from Mawson Lakes and finish on 23rd January just in Adelaide. On Sunday 16th January, the race will be instead anticipated by a special prologue with the dispute of the Cancer Council Classic, a 51 kilometers’ race on a close circuit.
