As for every specialty of cycling, from that on road to that on track, also the mountain bike requires special physical preparation and training. Respect to that on road, in fact, the "off-road" cycling requires an activity rhythm aerobics more sustained, because shorter about the time. Respect to a classical road-race habitually run by professional riders, as for example the Milan-Sanremo, the mountain bike race takes part on a shorter run but requires a more intense aerobic effort along the whole race. To be able to sustain such an effort you have to effect a correct training therefore, that allow you to develop the best your aerobic and work-resistance abilities. Besides the competition with the adversaries, mountain bike requires in fact a specific training also to face in the best way the asperities of the race-ground, more binding in comparison to that of the road-cycling. To prepare in the best way a race season it is recommended to divide the training program in four phases, alternating periods of general physical preparation to specify preparation, competitive period (races) and period of transition, devoting this last one to the rest. Besides the technical aspect, then, to get good results of aerobic resistance is opportune to alternate the mountain bike to the road-race bike, more proper to improve the rhythm of pedaled and to train themselves on different intensities. The on road training, very useful to increase the breath and the resistance to the long efforts, represents in fact the base of a general preparation and the first phase of a complete training for people who practise mountain bike.
