May 21 2008Urbania-Cesena On Wednesday 21st May 2008 exactly at its half-run the 91st Giro d'Italia for professionals will arrive in Romagna for the finish of eleventh stage Urbania-Cesena. The pink caravan will reach in fact our territory the next day of the individual time trial of Urbino immediately presenting the check to protagonists of the general classification. It will be a difficult stage in which they won't miss slopes, to all benefit of the show. With its 199 kilometres, the Urbania-Cesena will cross the dorsal hilly between Romagna and Marche climbing the GPM of Saint Marin, Mount Carpegna, Perticara and Sorrivoli, to go to the finish in Cesena after a spectacular final circuit with a passage in correspondence of the Cippo in memory of climber Marco Pantani. For Cesena, that of Giro d'Italia is a pleasant return two years later the 2006's edition in which was center of departure of stage Cesena-Saltara, in an inverted run toward Marche. With a run similar to those of Urbania-Cesena of Wednesday 21st may 2008, it concluded instead the Porto Sant'Elpidio-Cesena of Giro 2004 won by climber Emanuele Sella before the next Cesena-Treviso. In the "climb" from Urbania to Cesena, the stage will lick up also the territory of Riccione, very close to the passage of the caravan in Montescudo. For cycling lovers it will be so a perfect occasion to admire the passage of the pink race - that will leave again on Thursday 22nd may from near Forlì to reach Carpi - in a holiday in near Bike Hotels of Riccione, favourite stay by cycling lovers. The happy caravan of the Giro, with its unique atmosphere and many champions riding for the pink Jersey, is coming.
