 2011 mai 7 - 29It will start on May 7th from Turin and it will finish on May 29th in Milan the Italian Tour 2011. The next "pink race" will be raced in 21 stages along the traditional three weeks of competition. After the start from the Piedmont, the Italian Tour 2011 will cross Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Campania, Calabria and Sicily, then to go up again along the peninsula through Molise, Abruzzi, Marche, Emilia-Romagna, Trentino-Alto Adige, Austria for a short trespass, Friuli-Venice Giulia and Veneto, and therefore Lombardy for the last 4 stages and the great finish in Milan. With an only day of respite, it will be among the more binding Italian Tour in the recent history of the "pink race", what in 2011 it will celebrate the 150° anniversary of the unity of Italy. Both first and last stage will be raced against the time. Saturday May 7th 2011 it will be in fact a teams-time trial to open from the Palace of Venaria Reale (Turin) the challenge among the pretenders to the pink jersey that will be assigned on 29th May in Milan after an individual time trial. In the opening stage, the different teams will challenge on the 20 kilometres that separate the Palace of Venaria Reale from the eighteenth-century Vittorio Veneto Plaza in Turin.
