Route

This route covers mainly Valmarecchia, a valley which takes its name from the River Marecchia and extends behind Rimini. Here the views and the space are broader than in other areas of the Romagna hinterland with many challenging climbs. Even the best trained climbers fear the famous ascent of the Grillo Pass (once included in the Gran Fondo Nove Colli), which from Sant’Arcangelo di Romagna takes you to the village of Alessio after more than 20 km of climbs with gradients up to 15%. After a short uphill and downhill stretch, there is the ascent towards Verucchio which we recommend visiting. In fact, this medieval village is included in the list of the most beautiful villages of Italy and it is home to the important Museum of Villanovan Archaeology. Riding back towards the sea, you will cycle along a relaxing stretch of road with many refreshment stops until you reach the plain again.
