Giro d’Italia 2011 in Riccione

Riccione is the star of the twelfth leg of the Giro d’Italia 2011!
On 19 May at around 3pm, the pink sweatered cyclists will ride through some of the main streets and squares of the Green Pearl in the Emilia Romagna leg of the race.

The two-wheeled crowd will pass through Riccione Piazzale Marinai d'Italia, viale Torino, viale Milano and finish with viale G. D'Annunzio.
The 2011 edition has 21 legs overall with 3496 kilometres in total and began in Torino on the 7 May and is due to arrive in Milan on 29 May. The 12th leg that touches Riccione sees the stars of the giro face a 171 kilometre ride that goes from Castelfidardo to Ravenna and then carries on towards Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Sixteen regions will be cycled through with a brief crossing over the Austrian border in this gruelling competition made of splendid flat routes and numerous mountainous peaks and descents.
The Giro will end in Milan with a time trial of 32.8km starting from Piazza Castello and ending in Piazza Duomo.
